Study Abroad Program in mexico

Dr. Alstrum will hold an informational meeting about the 2008 Summer Study Program in Taxco, Mexico in STV 220 at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007.
Next summer's program will run 7 weeks between June 5 and July 24, 2007.

It is open to students of all majors and colleges provided that they have had at least one full year of college level Spanish, an overall GPA of 3.00 and two faculty letters of recommendation (one must be from a Spanish instructor).

This will be the 19th consecutive summer of the program, making it Illinois State's longest running study abroad program in Latin America. It provides students with the opportunity to study Spanish language and culture while they live with Mexican families. The program also includes guided tours of historic, cultural sites in Mexico, and excursions to the pyramids and other archeological zones of Teotihuacan and Xochicalco.

For more information about the study abroad program in Mexico, contact Dr. Jim Alstrum in the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Department by phone at (309) 438-7620 or by email at .
